- When locating a journal article, you need to search the QUT Library Catalogue for the JOURNAL TITLE (rather than the title of the article).

- Note the number of entries found...

- Which entry should you look at?
- All of them!
- You need to look at every entry to determine the full extent of library holdings.
- This entry is for an electronic version of the journal. You can tell because [electronic resource] appears after the title.
- To locate an electronic version of a journal article you need to note the: HOLDINGS
- This part of the entry is the HOLDINGS statement.It tells you which years are held by which database.This journal is available via a number of different databases.
- Let's have a look at some of the other entries.
- This entry is for the print version of the journal.
- To locate a print version of a journal article, you need to note the: ITEM LOCATION, CALL NUMBER, and HOLDINGS.
- The ITEM LOCATION tells you which branch holds the journal and which collection it is held in.
- This part of the entry is the CALL NUMBER.
- This part of the entry is the HOLDINGS statement. It tells you which years, volumes and issues are held by the library.
- Look at the HOLDINGS to work out whether the year, volume and issue you need is available.

- But the holdings statement indicates the year 2001 is not available.
- Let's look at the final entry. Note it is for the Journal of Business Ethics Online.
- This entry is the same as the first entry we looked at. It is duplicated so that you can search for either Journal of business ethics OR Journal of business ethics online.
- Three of the databases have the year, volume and issue you need. Hing, N. (2001). Changing the odds: A study of corporate principles and practices in addressing problem gambling. Journal of business ethics, 33(2), 115-144.
- It does not matter which database you choose, as long as it holds the year you require.
- Let's look at ABI/Inform Global.

- There are two versions of the article: Text + Graphics or Page Image - PDF
